What was the last wine tour in which you took part?
A wine tour is an outstanding experience.
Personally, to understand the different realities around wine I prefer this approach than the fairs. Of course, a wine event such as Autochtona or Bottiglie Aperte allows you to discover several wines in just an hour. But the winemaker has only a few minutes to get you to understand his winery, his vineyards, his wine philosophy and his wines. It’s a hard task!
If you take part in a wine tour, you can really immerse yourself in the experience in real time and not just in your mind. What do you think about this?
On Saturday, 16th of December I’ll take part in the first Luxury Day Tour organized by The Grand Wine Tour. I’m really excited about this opportunity!
If you want to understand the experience better, I invite you to follow me on my Instagram Stories and on The Grand Wine Tour account.
Now, I want to give you more information about what The Grand Wine Tour is. So, if you like my experience you can book your personal tour.
Are you ready? Let’s start!
The Grand Wine Tour
The Grand Wine Tour is a mark of excellence in hospitality distinguishing Italian wineries.
The project was born in 2015 and it offers exceptional services dedicated to a luxury clientele.
Max Coppo, creator and coordinator of The Grand Wine Tour, says “Despite the growing phenomenon of wine tourism, there are still few reliable references that can guide visitors with certainty and from this, came the idea of creating a network of wineries where visitors can expect the same the level of care and hospitality.”
There is a meticulous selection process when it comes to the wineries for the project because the services offered have very high standards.
Actually, it consists of 20 wineries spread through 8 regions:
- Piedmont – Cascina Chicco, Ceretto, Coppo, Michele Chiarlo, Rocche dei Manzoni, Tenuta Carretta, Travaglini and Villa Sparina;
- Lombardy – Castello di Cigognola;
- Veneto – Bortolomiol, Col Vetoraz and Zenato;
- Emilia Romagna – Umberto Cesari;
- Liguria – Lunae and Poggio dei Gorleri;
- Tuscany – Altesino, Fattoria Le Pupille and Sapaio;
- Campania – Feudi di San Gregorio;
- Puglia – Leone di Castris.
The Grand Wine Tour is partnered with Musement Tour Operators, a platform that designs, organizes and sells tours and packages offered by the wineries associated with the project.
Luxury Day Tours
Are you located in one of the major Italian cities and have you a day off?
Perfect! You can take part in a luxury day tour. Each tour is personalized to meet your specific needs and requirements.
A driver gives you the opportunity to enjoy each Italian wine region in comfort.
When you reach the winery, you can take part in vertical tastings, including select and reserve bottles, guided by a wine specialist. So, you have a real chance to improve your wine knowledge!
Another important thing is that you can also discover the regional cuisines in a Michelin-starred restaurant during your tour.
Saturday, 16th of December 2017
As I already told you, I’m really excited about this! On Saturday, I’ll take part in my first Luxury Day Tour.
I’ll start by discovering the vineyards of Coppo and Art Park La Court of Michele Chiarlo. After this, there will be the visit to the cellar of Coppo. Do you know that it’s one of the four Underground Cathedrals and a UNESCO World Heritage Site?
San Marco will be the Michelin-starred restaurant where I’ll discover the regional cuisine. I’m Piedmontese, but I cannot wait to taste some delicious local courses.
And after the lunch, a great ending in the cellar of Michele Chiarlo. I’ve wanted to visit this iconic cellar in Piedmont for some time now.
So I invite you to follow my tour on my Instagram and on The Grand Wine Tour account. During the tour, I will answer all your questions so if you are curious about the wines or the winery don’t hesitate to ask me.
Cheers
Simone
